Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US and is a Greek-American author, syndicated columnist as well as a businesswoman. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the CEO and founder of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is an author, television personality, philanthropist and also the proprietor and editor of The Huffington Post. After moving into England from Greece at 16 and obtaining an MA with a major in Economics from Cambridge University. As the first non-English speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. A conservative syndicated blogger following her graduation, she became an influential voice for the Huffington Post. Her fame led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna became famous after she decided in 2003 to become an Independent candidate in the California Recall Election to replace the former governor Davis. Alongside that, she led a Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient cars. Forbes placed her at 12 on its top 10 list of Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their list of the top 100 in the year 2010. AOL acquired The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. Then she was appointed the President of the media division at AOL. The group included several AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was an expert in management and a journalist. Though she shared a close relationship with both of her parents, it was their bond that helped shape her. Even during her formative period, she displayed leadership skills for which she is still well-known. In the year she turned 16, she moved from the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. In college, she was a member of the Cambridge Union, a college debate club. The third female president, and also the first foreigner she served as the head of the Cambridge Union. In 1972, she graduated with an MA in Economics. In the years following her degree she became a columnist, critic as well as a TV host. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
