
Kate Hudson is an outstanding actor, well-known for her performance as Penny Lane in the Hollywood film Almost Famous which has earned her an Academy Award nomination. She was born into a film family, Hudson seemed destined to the limelight in her early years. Her mother Goldie Hawn was a film actress and her father Bill Hudson is comedian. From an early age she was a performer and would seize every opportunity to perform on stage. Her parents made sure she was getting dancing instruction, and she was also trained at the Santa Monica Playhouse as a child. In 1996, she got the opportunity to play a character on the TV drama Party of Five. While she was accepted into New York University by Kate Hudson, her goal was to pursue a career in the show business and not earn the degree. After performing in a few small films and a few short films, she was offered the role that would become her big break in her career. She was cast as Penny Lane in the comedy drama film Almost Famous. Though the film didn't do very well in the box office, it was well received by reviewers and resulted in Kate an international star in the American movie industry.
